When Beatrix the Great Dane has been going out into the yard to poop, I have been encouraging her to go farther away from the house by pointing farther out in the yard and saying "go" as she sniffs for the perfect poop spot. Well today she must really had to go because she bounced around out farther one time, but was actually not much farther so when she doubled o er into poop squat stance I gently ( I have been plenty rough with he other times but I this time I was very gentle) nudged her to get her to pop a squat further out.
Instead she yelped like I had shoved her nose in what she was working out. She freaked out and ran top speed back into the house ( I left the door open ) and she ran directly upstairs to her safe spot.
I brought he back down but the next opportunity she got she ran right upstairs and laid down in her crate.
The lesson I learned was that I can try and teach her stuff before and after she curls one out, but I just can't bug her while she is in position.
